Game over!

So, the immense firepower of the Tau finally tells and the orks are all but tabled. Orks lose. The Tau player was exceptionally skilled at feeding me cheap units to kill, them pumping the lead into my assault units. Overall I really enjoyed the games today.

Ork Superfriends

Ghaz, Snik and the Doc arrive with the Kommandos. After smoking a fire warrior squad this group sustains the combined fire of the entire Tau army. The Kommandos die leaving the characters to charge and break a unit of hammerheads.

Doomed grots

These grots having deployed in cover with only the tankbustas for company, find themselves the target of countless marker lights. Soon they are vaporized by the hail of fire.

Tankbustas

The tankbustas huddle behind this rock to shelter from the torrents of fire issuing from the Tau gun line.

Game 3 vs Tau

Bikes fly up and get barbecued!

Orks Win!

The wraith lord looks for revenge..

...after the Kommandos kill some aspect warriors.

Trukkboys vs Eldrad

The trukkboys charge onto the board and storm Eldrad.

Orks advance!

Grotzookas

Harlequins don't like grotzookas. They died.

Koptas strike!

The koptas take out the Eldar tank turn 1. Good start.

Game 2, mostly footdar.

Game 1, Orks 0...

Close game for a loss to GK. I did better than I thought I would and actually had a good chance to win until the very last turn. Good game!

Trukkboys vs purifiers...

This didn't go well...

Kopta punks a rhino...

Tankbustas arrive

The tankbustas whiff on the dread and fall to a hail of stombolter fire.

Orky Superfriends

Snikrot, Ghaz, the Mad Doc and the Kommandos arrive from ambush and are promptly followed by Crowe.

Melta...

Here comes the dread in a stormchicken.

The Battlewagon storms onto the board!

...and gets fried by a dread multimedia...

Orks Vs. Grey Knights Part Deux

Back on President's Day, I suffered an inglorious defeat at the hands of a Grey Knights paladin list. I just couldn't get any traction. I need to get a handle on that army as I fully expect to see several GK players at the Bugeater GT in June.

So, I agreed to face down a Grey Knight Paladin list again on Monday evening. Even though I didn't win, I felt much better about my chances when the game was over. I used a mostly mounted force of orks including 2 battlewagons, three rokkit buggies, 3 kans, a deff dread, two trukks and three zzap guns. The loss of one too many kill points  (in this case a ill-fated deff kopta) lost me the game.

Even if I can't beat the paladins toe to toe, I can still win if I can contain them. In my case, that means throwing cheap vehicles at them to bog them down.

I still have a long way to go to get ready for the tournament. I recognize that I haven't really taken sufficient time to master the rules, in spite of the fact that I have been playing regularly for over a year.

Royal Crust... er Crest...

Rex!

I'm playing the new game from FFG, set in the Twilight Imperium universe. I hope that the play time is not set in the Twilight Imperium universe.

After a hard fought battle, nothing beats a beer and some bowling.

Tourney Game 2

So, game 2 was vs Eldar. Due to some rotten dice luck on behalf of my opponent and some trucks with favorable ramshackle rolls, the orks are 2 an 0 today! Go green!

31st Century Tournament Game 1

So I am in Olathe today playing in a local 40k tournament. The mission rules in combination with a couple of lucky rolls resulted in a first turn charge for my trukkboys and my Warboss. After killing two tactical squads, a dev squad and the enemy chapter master, the truckers and Warboss are dead. They died laughing though, because the enemy was all but tabled. One big win for the boyz!
